Wedding Wednesday on Thursday! Melanie & Jesse

I've fallen a little behind on my blogging(again)- A special thanks to my friend and classmate Betsy Carroll, who reminded me that yesterday was Wedding Wednesday! So here's to you B.C.!

An outdoor wedding in Alabama in August can only mean one thing-True Love! And that's exactly what we witnessed on August 21st in Opelika, AL. The happy couple had a very short(but sweet) outdoor ceremony followed by a very lavish ballroom reception; both taking place at the Marriott Grand National Golf Resort. This was my first post graduation wedding & I tried to use the many skills I learned at Hallmark, along with my past wedding experiences. It was a very lovely event, well planned by a very sweet and professional planner, Julie Bunkley. A very special thanks to Contessa Franklin for the referral & Vanice Burton for being a wonderful assistant. Congratulations Melanie and Jesse!

My Assistant, My Model, My Son

Today I photographed a long time friend, trying my hand at a more fashionie type shoot(I will post those images after I'm finished retouching them). I was accompanied by one of my twin boys, Jason, who made it very clear: "I'm here to work, but not model". Jason was a great sport and offered lots of 9 year old help. I even got a shot of Jason I really like. With my newly gained know-how, I used a cute Photoshop frame to add a little zest to the portrait. Thanks Jason!

Thursday

Marketing, Marketing, Marketing

If you create it, they will come. Well at least that is what I hope. I'm spending several hours a day training myself to be my own graphic designer. Because Intown's look is simplistic, most of my promo pieces will be simple. I must admit I am enjoying using my unrefined design talent. I'm going to search the library for a good design book or two to gain some pointers.

To the business: Now is the time to book sessions for holiday portraits and cards. With weather this beautiful, you couldn't ask for a better time to spend a few hours outdoors having professional portraits made. Contact me to schedule your "Playdate with Portraits".

Wednesday

Wedding Wednesdays

So I am going to really pump some life into this blog! I want to blog at least once per day. I figure if I "theme" some of the days, I can pre-plan a few blogs to use on days I'm not feeling so bloggish. Wednesdays are officially declared Wedding Wednesdays! The majority of what I do right now is portrait photography, but I'm a really good wedding photographer(if I should say so myself). I really enjoy weddings. They are such happy occasions and offer a people person such as myself the opportunity to meet lots of new people. If I had my way, I'd shoot a wedding a weekend, and spotlight that wedding on Wednesdays! I have quite a few weddings under my belt, and I'm going to step back in time and post photographs from past weddings on Wednesdays until I reach the wedding a week goal. If you or someone you know is planning a wedding and would like to find out more about my pricing, please feel free to contact me.

Tuesday

Promo Pieces

I've spent quite a few hours using PhotoShop to create promotional pieces for Intown Imagery. Above you'll find my latest pieces which show off recent work as well current price lists.

Sunday

Class of 2011

A weekend of shooting Senior Portraits sure brings back the excitement of my school days. I had the chance to shoot this beautiful teen yesterday and really wished I could at least go back and redo my senior portraits! With the advances in digital photography, the possibilities for senior portraits are now endless. Contact me if your senior is in need of a personal portrait session.

The Phase Out

I have been SUPER absent from blogging- but I have good reasons. I am phasing out Tanisha Stephens Photography and I've been busy developing the brand and ironing out the details of my new company. I will specialize in family and children's portraiture. I'm excited about starting here in Atlanta. Today I will share my new logo (which) I actually shared on FaceBook last week. Hope you like it. Big things to come! Thanks Peter Chilton
